Grant Young’s Grand Challenge
Grant reached the Black Sea on Monday night and went straight to the shore for a paddle. (It was freezing so only his feet got wet.) On the cycle into town there was no street-lighting and his back wheel went into a hole and got buckled! How’s that for timing? He sent this message the next day:
‘Good morning from a cloudy and very cold Constanta. I am going to take a bus up to Tulcea today, and stay there overnight. I will take the boat out to Sulina tomorrow morning to the official end of the Danube, and probably return to Constanta tomorrow evening. That will allow a wee look at this place before I head to Bucharest for the plane.
Feeling pretty tired today, but it’s not really surprising. As well as climbing 1,000 feet higher than Ben Nevis with my 25 kilos of gear, I had a strong head wind for nearly 100miles!
Anyway, I made it, and that's what counts.’
